5.1 Variable Assignment

A variable in a configuration file is set using the following assignment:

name=value;

or:

name:value;

The trailing semicolon is required. Whitespace is not significant. Here, name is the name of the variable, and value is its value; which may be a scalar value, an array, a group, or a list. See section Variable Types, for information on these value types.

The order in which variables are specified in the configuration file is insignificant, except within the SimulationSpace variable (see section Simulation Space). The sub-variables of the SimulationSpace variable are processed in the order of appearance in the configuration file. This is necessary because the user needs to be able to control the order in which objects are placed in the grid, and predict the regions within an object that will be overwritten by another object.
